Happy Father's Day - Reflections on Father's Love

Being a Father's Daughter, it is only fitting that I should initiate my new blog on Father's Day.

This is completely impromptu, but the time is ripe! Please see my post on Author's Promoting Authors blog:  http://authorspromotingauthors.blogspot.com/2011/06/sundays-stillpoint-letting-go.html  if you are interested in the process that brought me here today.  This new blog was created several months ago, but I had not committed myself to it's launching until this morning.  Psyche's Journey is in a transitional state at the moment.  This beloved project of mine needs to be adapted to the financial constraints of the current economy, but I feel optimistic that a new way will open up.  If there is enough interest, I am considering an online magazine.  This blog, along with my blog spots on Author's Promoting Authors, should help me gage the next steps.

The following is a quote from my article called, "Spiraling Into Me" from the Spring/Summer 2010 issue of Psyche's Journey.  It seems appropriate for this Father's day post.  Are you a Father's Daughter too?  I would love to hear your feedback, your experiences, your soul stories, so that we might create a community of likeminded women (and men) who are looking to continue their personal, psychological development.  I am especially interested in the area of love and relationships, and of course the conscious feminine.

"I am very fortunate to be a Father’s Daughter. Love becomes a potent teacher from this perspective, and I am love’s diligent student. Marion Woodman speaks of looking at the numinous loves in our lives as falling in love with the same person again and again.  These loves begin at home, with caretakers and their manner of loving.

“Falling in love has to do with the recognition of a haunting melody, a series of notes that one once knew, reincarnated in the being of another. Some trait produces a resonance of the primary parental love mode. “  —William A. Sadler "     (from Psyche's Journey, 2010, Dorica D. Nevin)

Your thoughts?  Love to all, Dorica
